This African Journal of Rural Development (AFJRD) Volume 8 Issue 2 presents 10 papers that cover different aspects of rural development challenges: Modelling climate change occurrences and impact, impact of plant diseases on plantation forestry, managing aflatoxin infestation in maize grains, improving uptake of upland rice technologies and improved local chicken breeds,  improving feed quality of broiler chicken, and addressing issues of community empowerment, technology uptake and youth migration. Also, one paper addresses the issue of entrepreneurship skill development amongst graduate students in Ghana, another examines use of Behaviour Change Communication for improving nutrition of communities in Malawi while a related paper addresses the issue of Social Capital and Agricultural development in Zambia. The issues addressed affect various facets of social and economic development across Africa and therefore the papers make useful input into debate on improving economic wellbeing of people at various level of development and provide insights into needed interventions and approaches. These and other issues will be examined in follow up publications of AFJRD.
